The second iteration of this successful festival. Ben and Allie travelled to the West Bank to again deliver a workshop in collaboration with Al Harah Theatre to ten emerging theatre directors on Grid Iron’s site-specific methodology. The six directors chosen to create productions for the festival were Adnan Al Bobali, Diana Swity, Motasem Abu Hasan, Sham Yousef, Hadil Khateb and Soha Rabee. The productions were built from transcripts of interviews with the storyteller Sally Shalabi.
This time Allie and Ben were able to return to view the results of the directors’ work which were stunning. The festival was a joyous celebration of the diversity of Palestinian talent and beautifully produced by Marina Barham and Nicola Adel Zreineh from Al Harah. The British Council generously supported the project.
